Mr Jim Shamoon - Trust Chairman

I would like to invite you to the 6th edition of KIFF. The festival has come of age, a clear proof of what a determined team can achieve with limited resources.

I would like to congratulate the secretariat and the volunteers from local universities for a job well done.

It is indeed my pleasure to be a part of this marvelous festival. The future of the film industry lies with the young people, it is for this reason that we at KIFFT have recognized their potential talent and have set up a special programme for young and budding filmmakers.

It is encouraging to see that over a thousand students have registered to be part of this festival. It is therefore my belief that this is going to be an active, interactive exchange for the students, film experts and professionals.

Our festival theme Leadership: Next Generation has attracted 539 films from 52 countries. This of course is a large growth compared to 30 films in the first edition of the festival. For those who submitted their films, thank you very much, for those who are here for the first time, welcome to Kenya and for those who didn’t know about us? Now you know!

KIFF has and will always remain a unique festival in the region. I want to say it is our esteemed hope that soon we will be the pride of Africa! For those visiting Kenya as tourists we know that the Kenyan experience is seeing Africa. On behalf of the board I would like to invite you all to Kenya for the 6th edition of the KIFF
