We urgently need to grow a cinema culture in Kenya, and especially among the young people. A festival without an audience is like as a market without buyers. Kenya has a young cinema going culture and the general public is slowly building interest in going to watch films at cinema halls.

The student fraternity contributes to a large audience of film lovers and the festival has a special program for schools collages and universities.

This program is aimed at encouraging an early appreciation of films and develop a cinema going culture among the students. It is also aimed at exposing upcoming young film directors and enthusiasts.

The festival has a special package for pupils and students to watch films during the mornings at all venues.
