The Kenya International Film Festival recognizes that to encourage the growth of the film industry in Africa, forums to discuss issues affecting the industry need to be availed to filmmakers and stakeholders.
Apart from screening films, the festival hosts various workshops and round table discussions. The following are some of the workshops that will be held:
- Critic Workshop: Participants include journalists and news editors
- Maisha Lab: This is a production workshop. Participants include script writters, directors, sound and camera men and technical editors
- Script Writing Workshop: Targets youth and budding script writters
- Pitching Workshop: Participants include film makers and producers, script writters and directors.
- Radio and TV in promotional African Cinema
- Intellectual property workshop
- History of Kenyan Film Exhibition
